Meet the Owner: A Lifelong Passion for Automotive Innovation
Hi, I'm Piotr Slabiak , the founder and sole technician at Elevated Auto-Tech. My love affair with cars started in my childhood in Poland, where I vividly remember watching a technician troubleshoot an advanced electrical issue on a 1992 Opel Kadett GSI. Wires and diagnostic tools were spread everywhere, and that professional was in his element—diving into complex systems with genuine enthusiasm. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to spend my life doing the same—solving challenging automotive puzzles.
European Roots & Hands-On Experience
My first car—a 1977 Fiat 125p—became my personal training ground. It seemed to break down weekly, providing endless opportunities for me to sharpen my mechanical skills. By 2002, I was working on cars full-time, specializing in German makes and models. In 2006, I took a major leap forward by joining the BMW headquarters in New Jersey, where I worked closely with research engineers on cutting-edge automotive projects. This unique experience gave me valuable insights into both the technical and practical aspects of modern vehicle systems.
A Passion for Electronics
Cars today are as much about tech as they are about mechanics—and that's where my fascination truly lies. I've dedicated countless hours to experimenting with electronic components, eventually designing custom microcontrollers for Audi vehicles to help owners overcome certain factory design flaws. Whether it's advanced diagnostics or crafting innovative fixes, I firmly believe that technology can make cars perform better and last longer.
Embracing the Colorado Mountain Life
Ultimately, my love for nature and high-altitude thrills drew me to Colorado. Outside the shop, you'll find me riding dirt bikes or mountain bikes along the state's stunning single tracks, often competing in the Colorado Moto Enduro Series. The challenging mountain terrain pushes me to improve, much like the intricate automotive puzzles I solve daily in my garage.
